Three Months of Disappointment

Sky has spent the past 3 months with Tish (AKA Tatjana Goodwin from Haslemere, Surrey) and virtually nothing has been done with him! During this period, I've only ever seen Tish on his back once and that was the day she visited my yard to discuss loaning him.

Despite a number of visits to her 'yard', I only bumped into her once and that was with prior appointment. My post on her Blog (Sky's the Limit & Tish - accessed via the link on the righthand side of this blog) will give you a more in-depth account of my bad experience. Although his health was good, his training and learning curve was greatly depleated and having come from a yard with over 40 horses..... down to just him and a small pony for company, seemed rather unfair especially as he is only 6 years old.

I will obviously be making alternative arrangements and let you know the outcome soon.

Owner of Sky's the Limit

I bought Sky at only 3 months old back in 2000 and brought him to my yard at 5 months of age. He was gelded during the first week with me and once that had healed, he got his first rug! (see pics below)

By year 2005 he had gone through many stages in his life and I too learnt a heck of a lot about owning horses!!!!We have had many highs and lows along the way - check out the link 'Sky's training' for more detail of his first 5 years. He is now 16.2hh and considering he was supposedly never to be any bigger than 15.2hh, you can probably appreciate that he takes a lot of 'holding together'. During this year, Sky reached a stage in his youth where someone of my stature (4'11" tall and just over 8 stone) was finding it extremely difficult in handling his canter. He was tending to tank off with me and it was becoming dangerous for both of us.

He is currently away with Tish (which commenced on 13th July 2006), who will hopefully take him through this phase for me and take his education to another level. To read what she is doing, click on the Link entitles 'Sky's the Limit & Tish'.
